Lisbon Food 1 June 10, 2022 Martin Hesp In tomorrow’s Western Morning News RAW Food & Drink PR pages we’ve got a big spread all about the food of Lisbon. So I’m bunging up a few photos here as a taster… Shellfish is always a must in Portugal As are prawns and shrimp And, of course, various salt-cod dishes But porcini ice-cream was a new one for me As was salmon dressed in all manner of wild fungi However, it’s well known that you can’t go far in Portugal without meeting a sardine And a seafood soup You’re also never far from a sausage And a few local cheeses always go down well And talking of sardines - what’s a can without them? You can also get some very posh nosh in Lisbon, like this little offering for brunch But you’ve gotta love the places where they eat all this wonderful stuff Like the amazing Alfaia Restaurant More this weekend after my big Eating Out in Lisbon feature appears in the papers…
