More Cider Apple Footage from 1992

Another day, another cider-related video. This time yet another little film from my trip to Normandy in 1992 when my great pal Tim Bannerman helped me glean all manner of information about the way the French deal with their orchards, their apples and their cider and other fruit-based produce.

In this short video Tim and I visited a remarkable farmer who was certainly forward thinking when it came to the politics of the countryside in relation to cider. What he says in the video is still relevant to this day - even more so here in the South West where we could certainly do with learning a few of the examples set by the French.

By the way this curious photo of me staring up at Tim stuck in a tree has nothing to do with the video or with orchards or anything else. It’s certainly not an apple tree. It was taken a couple of years ago when we visited the Bannerman's in their Herefordshire home - and I thought somehow that is very loosely fitted in with the theme…
